Recovered from my collection of MZ-80K tapes – mostly written in the early 1980s either from scratch or by typing out the listings in magazines of the period such as Computing Today.
Written in SP-5025 BASIC
Prime number generator – Sieve of Erastothenes algorithm. A more useful version is documented here.
The Valley – An implementation of a Computing Today adventure game, published in April 1982.
Mad Max 2021 – A post-apocolyptic driving game written in the 80s, but very appropriate in the sunlit uplands of Brexit and Covid-19.
E24 Parascan – Calculate which pairs of standard resistors can be used in parallel to create a non-standard resistance within a specific tolerance.
Duck Shoot – Take aim at simulated wildlife (and the sun) and get called out for your troubles.
Race Chase – How many targets can you destroy before the missile destroys you?
Epidemic – Cure the patient or the penicillin is administered.
Ski run – Slalom game with a bad rendition of the theme to ‘Ski Sunday’ as a bonus.
Attributed to Newton – The game that came last in the PUR-80 category of the BASIC 10 liner competition in 2022.
Lunar Eclipses – Calculates the date and time of lunar umbral eclipses.
Easter Sunday – Find the date of Easter for any year from 1753 onwards.
