Ski run
Published in Computing Today, October 1980. I’d missed this game written for the Sharp MZ-80K in the 1980s, so I spent a couple of covid-19 lockdown hours yesterday typing it in. I guess it was possible I missed it because I didn’t have a machine for more than a year after publication – or possibly because it really isn’t that good a game.

While the instructions are displayed it attempts to play the theme to the BBC’s ‘Ski Sunday’. Well, I think that’s what it’s meant to be – it’s not a very good rendition.

The aim is to ski down the slalom course in the fastest possible time. The number keys allow you to go quicker or slower; pressing any other key changes your direction (left or right).

If you’d like to run some of the programs I’ve archived on your own MZ-80K or emulator, you can find them in my Sharp MZ-80K github repository.
